So its been a good few weeks since I last checked in and as you can imagine a lot has happened and been happening.

I spent a couple of weeks in Cyprus with the national team, where I got some game time, and most importantly, we got ourselves into the final where we unfortunately lost 2-0 to France. But for us, it was a very good tournament with lots of positives to take as Mark, Marieanne and Lee try to implement their new strategies within the team. It was a great two weeks for the team and myself – it defo got everyone’s appetite going for the start of the new season!

So we arrived back too play a couple of friendlies as we now have to build on the past 6-8 weeks of training. This included friendlies against Durham and Reading, which were good tests for us, bagging two victories 6-0 and 7-0 respectively, so it’s all looking positive for the start of the season.

Our first game was at home to Coventry Ladies in the FA Cup, which was the first time we played at Meadow Lane (A 2-1 win). It’s a fantastic facility, but in need of some TLC after a season of football and rugby on it – so it will be a testing first few home games for us.

We have also had the arrival of another two players, Katie Hoyle has arrived safely from New Zealand and most recently our Canadian destroyer aka Desiree Scott – both are settling nicely and have most importantly brought the sunshine with them. 🙂

So everything has been gearing up to the main event on the 16th when we play Arsenal Ladies. Launch events have been completed, BT Sport and BBC have shown their support for the women’s game, which is great for us. 🙂

Arsenal have had a tough few weeks and I have no doubt with there quality they will come good, like ourselves they have had changes so its definitely going to be a game to watch and listen too (live on BBC Radio 5Live Extra).

We both completed our advancement into the next round of the FA cup with wins over Coventry and Gillingham over the weekend and both have improvements to make if either of us want to win come Wednesday night! We know as a team and squad what we are capable of, but we now have to put to bed all the talk and put it on the pitch with results. We know it’s going to be a really competitive season, but that’s what we’re here for, to be part of something exciting – but at the right end of the table.

Around 180 sessions completed with as many as 18 games or more to come…. BRING IT ON!!!!!

Thanks for reading.
